Drive for life
Dr. Keith Hellawell QPM, former chief constable of West Yorkshire Police
and Martin Port, MD of Masternaut Three XDrive for Life is the safe driving competition from Masternaut Three X – in association with Road Safety Charity Brake and Drive & Survive.
Nominate your fleet today, to gain a chance for one of your drivers to become the Masternaut Three X ‘Drive for Life’ driver of the year.
Masternaut Three X is committed to improving safer driving and our duty of care solution is just one way in which we can help make Britain’s roads safer. With over 50,000 vehicles on the road each day tracked by Masternaut Three X, we have one of the largest virtual fleets and the chance to make a real difference to road safety.
In conjunction with Brake, the road safety charity we are delighted to announce the launch of “Drive for Life”, our inaugural Safe Driver of the Year competition.
Nine people die everyday on UK roads. Commercial vehicles, such as trucks, vans, coaches and buses account for 1 in 5 of all road deaths, or 20 road deaths each week – yet commercial vehicles account for only 1 in 50 of all vehicles on our roads.
The Drive for Life competition will help you focus your drivers on ‘putting safety first’ – and will identify those whose driving knowledge, attitude and behaviour ranks as best when judged against their peers.
Each quarter we’ll award £1250 to the safest driver, as assessed using the duty of care driving performance data and judged by our panel of expert judges. And the great news is, we’ll match every prize with another donation of £1250 to road safety charity Brake.
Not only will the competition focus your drivers on safety, the winners and their companies have the chance to take part in a range of PR opportunities that will raise your organisation’s profile as a user of best practice when it comes to driver safety and duty of care.
We've lined up a panel of carefully selected 'Drive for Life' judges who will be awarding prizes using insight and data from our GreenerFleet duty of care solution. Our panel includes:
Dr Keith Hellawell - Former Chief Constable of West Yorkshire and UK Government 'drug czar'
Keith Robson - Group Director of Transport Services, Unipart
Rob Wright - National Logistics Controller at United Biscuits
Simon Reynish - Ambassador for the North West - DFT Freight Best Practice Programme
Martin Otter - Director of Innovation at Masternaut Three X
Drive for Life is exclusively for Masternaut Three X customers who use our GreenerFleet solution to reduce their environmental impact and who want to promote safer driving within their fleet.
If you wish for your fleet to participate then please login to the Masternaut system (using your username and password) and visit the news page where you will find the entry form and full instructions of how to enter. Customers should have already received an email containing a special password that will be required for registration – if you cannot locate this, please contact your Masternaut customer service representative.
Its quick and simple to sign up, and once you’ve registered, there’s nothing else you need to do – apart from wait to see if one of your drivers gets chosen of course!
The competition will be judged using information from your Masternaut Three X tracking system. Once you have entered the competition, we will be notified each quarter of your fleet’s performance using the information from the GreenerFleet Duty of Care solution to identify those drivers whose standards are amongst the best.
Each quarter we will identify a short-list of drivers who will be invited to go to the second stage of the competition by completing an on-line 'drive and survive' assessment and a short questionnaire. A panel of judges will select a quarterly winner.
Each winner will receive a cash prize of £1250 and Masternaut Three X will match this with a donation to Brake, the road safety charity.
